Can I run my Panasonic DV mini camcorder with a 6.5v output 110v adaptor?

I have a panasonic pvgs80 mini dv camcorder i have a panasonic ac adaptor with 6.5v output,my camcorder says it needs 7.9 the plug matches the connector on camcorder,will i do any damage if i use my 6.5v panasonic adaptor thanks

You need to get the polarity right as well as the voltage - take the camcorder with you when you buy a generic charger.

yes . you need the right voltage to run it . get a universal plug at radio shack.
