I have a Motorola High Def DVR box with every kind of output imaginable. I am wondering if I can run it through my EVGA 8800 GTS so I can watch my HD cable through my computer (and 1920x1200 monitor). Would it be possible to run the cable through my computer and be able to switch back and forth? Thanks!

  1. Video cards only have outputs, but you could plug it into your monitor.  Some monitors have multiple inputs and you can just switch between them by a button or menu on the monitor (check the manual if unsure).  If your monitor only has one input, you could get a switchbox and plug your computer and DVR into it and then run it through to your monitor.

    HDMI (Expensive): http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?...

    Component: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002SP...

You can find these pretty easily at an electronics store as well, among other types.  You just have to use the same type of input from the DVR and the PC and to the monitor.
