Should I use TRY ON only when i refer to clothes? Maybe there's something else i can refer to? such food, products etc? can i ? thank you.

  1. The expression  "I will try it on" is ok if someone offers you something different , but " I will give it a try" is more grammatically correct.


  2. How about, "Can I have a sample of this?", when referring to food or products.  Or simply say, "Can I try this?"    

  3. well, you can't "try on" food, if that's what you're asking, you maybe can "sample" food.

    and you can "experiment" with, say, a certain brand of toothpaste to see if you like it.

    to "try on" would refer pretty much to clothes, I'm afraid.


  4. If someone says to me "which day can I call you" I'd say "well, try on friday" Is that what you mean?
