Can I scooter ride from SW London to Hertfordshire?

Wimbledon to St. Alban's to be precise. If so, what kind of roads/routes could I use?

I would not take a motor scooter on the motorway unless it has an engine of at least 250 cc,  You would be better going from Wimbledon to join the A3 in to central London then going to Clerkenwell Road to Old Street then up to the Angel Islington turn left to Highbury Corner then up the A1 until you reach the A1000 then on to St.Albans
