Question:

Can I see the other bids that were submitted to the bank on a short sale property?

I put a bid in on a short sale property at 6,000 above asking and the bank countered at 11,000 above asking with 10,000 back for closing costs claiming there were 5 other bids. I was the only bid that was non-contingent and/or non-FHA so they went with me and I have a signed acceptance from the seller with a verbal acceptance from the bank. I want to see the other offers before moving forward, is this possible?

  1. The bank can not show them to you even if they wanted to, they would have to obtain permission from the bidders to disclose the bids, which they are not going to be doing.   Bids are private.

  2. You can ask, but the bank and/or seller is under no obligation to show you the bids.

  3. Absolutely not.  All the other offers, as well as your own, are confidential between you, the seller, the lender, and the real estate agent(s) involved.

You have no right to see any other offers.

  4. NOPE

    none of your business

it's a moot point at this time, anyway, as you have signed already

    READ your contract. . . . .moving forward is not a choice at this point. . . . .

  5. it is not possible.

    Interesting terms from a bank.
