Question:

Can I self-administer B-12 shots?

I get monthly B-12 shots from my doctor, but I would like to get them more often. I already give myself allergy shots in the thigh. Can I do the same thing with B-12? If so, how often and in what dose? Where can I get the shot mixture? Thanks.

  1. The dr can give you aprescription for b-12. it's a red liqiud, 1ml per month. cyanobalamin ( i think is how it's spelled).

  2. Are you serious?

Where in your mind do you get the idea that you have a better idea how to dose a medication than a physician who does it as his job? Who went to medical school? Do you know ANYTHING about pharmacology?

Here is your answer: Talk to the doctor. If you want to self-administer, have the doctor arrange it. If you want a more frequent or larger dose, TALK TO THE DOCTOR.

    Use your head.

Also, why are you asking questions about medication on yahoo answers?

    You are totally not welcome.

  3. you must get the prescription from your doctor and yes you can give it to yourself  but still once a month.

  4. you can buy it at vet supply houses ...Internet...as for dose..try a cc or so every 3-5 days ..

this is purely for fun and games..as  i AM NOT A DOCTOR
