  1. You need the title to the car to sell it. It doesn't matter if its registered or not.

  2. Nope.  It needs to be in your name before you can sell it.  How are you going to give ownership to the new owner when you don't legally own it yourself yet?

  3. FIRST OFF IF YOU SIGNED THE BACK OF THE TITLE AS NEW OWNER THEN YOU HAVE TO GO TO DMV AND REGISTER THE VEHICLE BEFORE YOU SELL IT.  THIS IS FOR NY RESIDENTS BUT I CANT TELL WHAT STATE YOUR IN BY YOUR QUESTION.  IF YOU LEFT TITLE OPEN, THAT IS YOU DIDN'T SIGN IT.  YOU CAN SELL IT TO ANYONE YOU WANT.  AS TO THE BILL OF SALE IF IT WAS MADE OUT TO YOUR NAME YOU WOULD HAVE TO GET A NEW ONE MADE OUT TO THE OTHER PERSON.

  4. you,ll have to make him out a bill of sale and if the title isn't got your name on it anywhere you can sell it that way other wise it may have to be registered before you can get a clear title to it,if your name isn't on the title though you can usually sell one, good luck.

  5. No, you need to have the title in your name I think.  You could sell it, but you would still have to get the title to make it legal.
