I don't think you can do that directly. A fax is sent over telephone lines. To send a fax, usually one would have to make use of a multipurpose machine (a single unit that can print, fax, scan etc.).

However, one can send a fax using a computer too. But for that you will need a fax-modem (most modern modems are capable of sending and receiving fax over phone lines). Consult your modem documentation/manufacturer's website to find out if you can send/receive faxes with your modem.
