Can I sharpen my sai?

I was wondering if I could sharpen my sais, I have the right tools to doo it but do you think I should or shouldnt?!?!?!

There is not much point to this. The tip COULD be sharpened but if you are talking about grinding down and creating a "blade" then you are not using the Sai in its proper method.

Sharpening the tip will not server you any purpose if you are training with them. If you are just looking to goof around with them, then sharpening the tip would probably left you throw it through more surfaces... not exactly recommended as a safe practice though.

Why? The sai is historically a truncheon related to the Japanese jitte. Do what you want, but I think you're missing the point.
