Does anyone know the rules regarding sending food, specifically baked good( banana bread) across the border? I'd be shipping from Oregon to B.C.

Thanks!

  1. It's really hard to ship FROM Canada to the US but shipping food up TO Canada isn't.

You can send baked goods with no problem.   Just be sure to label it properly as a gift and homemade foods and you should be just fine.

  2. Yes, I think you can ship baked goods.  Here is a link that may help.  At the second link you will find a phone number for the Canadian Border Services Agency and they would be able to tell you for sure.  You have to scroll right to the bottom to get the phone number.  Best of luck.

  3. Food is a prohibited item, just as is livestock etc.

You are NOT allowed to bring or send food into the country unless you have a specific permit from the Canadion Food Inspection Agency.
