Can I sign up for the £3k per day compensation Government is offering to terrorist suspects?

Reports say that to get Commons approval for extension from 28 to 42 days, government will compensate people held and NOT charged at £3k for the extra number of days suspects are held from 28 to 42, which miraculously works out to £42 grand.

Apart from Big Brother, where else could I sign up for 6 weeks (including 3 meals a day) and be guaranteed £42 grand!

  1. I think Gordon Brown has now passed the line of insanity. It should be noted this will only apply to those terror suspects who are held but not charged. What about those people that are charged and are subsequently found not guilty? Surely they should get even more compensation? And will this only apply to terror suspects? What about other crimes where people are held but not charged and then found not guilty?

Typical NuLabour fudge. They couldn't run an ice-cream van.

  2. Erm If I was held against my will.... interrogated and tortured i'd want more than £42k compensation.

I'd want their blood.. Seriously I would track them down and kill them.

Lol give me all the thumbs down you want.. Anyone that takes away my liberty, tortures me or my family and lets me live will die a slow and painful death.

  3. Are you kidding? That's pathetic. They must have taken lessons from the Canadian Gov't. paying off Indians.

  4. 9 grammes of lead fired at a high velocity into their brain pan  is what I'd give the clown who thought this **** up and it only costs less than 50 pence.

  5. Not unless you are a suspect, m'dear!

Someone in the hallowed precincts of power has seriously lost it .

  6. Having been held in error for that length of time they would most certainly have lost their job and possibly their accomodation not to mention friends and all the other downsides to being a terror suspect.£42k wouldn't cover it IMHO.You might want to have a re think there.
