  1. If you plan on not falling down then absolutely.  If you are going to fall down then absolutely not.  You will feel like c**p when you get wet.  Very uncomfortable.

  2. I wouldn't recommend skiing in jeans since they don't stretch & you wont ski as well. Ski with your leggings on the outside & wear something like sweatpants underneath. You'll want to move your knees & hips a lot & the jeans are the best for this.

  3. let me guess your from texas and going to wear a cowboy hat too right

  4. if u fall u'll be cold

  5. I always ski in jeans but wear snowpants also.

  6. You could but that doesn't mean it's a good idea.

Ever see anyone skiing in jeans?  No.  That's because when cotton gets wet it's heavy and cold.  Even if you weren't to fall or get wet jeans are not good at keeping legs warm and you'd probably regret the decision to wear them about five seconds up your first lift ride.

Get some decent waterproof snow pants and layer some fleece and long cotton under them.  If you're still h**l bent on wearing jeans wear them under your snowpants, if you have gaiters to keep the snow out a bit.

  7. Sure, if you have a nice looking bottom, its better than seeing baggy pants.  In the 1970s lots of people skied in blue jeans- they're cold, they don't insulate well, they will get wet if you fall, and the cuffs won't fit over your ski boots!

  8. it's you world baby im just here for the ride.

  9. Never ski in jeans.... you will get wet very easily AND be made fun of by most people on the mountain... I think people in jeans on the mountain are hicks... that might be a little close minded but believe me most people will be thinking the same and laughing at you.

You can goto a discount store and get a basic pair of snow pants for $20.00.   If you can afford a lift ticket, you can afford $20.00.

  10. you can ski with jeans just if you fall you might be cold and wet

  11. no, unless you want to look dumb. locals laugh a tourists wearing dumb clothes (ie one piece suits, neon, JEANS)

  12. I wouldn't because if the jeans get wet from the snow, it will take hours to dry and your up on a peak skiing with wet jeans.  Go with sweatpants, or snowpants. (snowpants would be best.)

  13. No, I would ski in anything but jeans. Jeans are the VERY last choice, even then i might go pant less :)

Cotton is a TERRIBLE fabric for snow and jeans are so heavy, think about what they feel like after the washer, now imagine wearing them while skiing. They will be heavy, cold, and you will not be happy. I don't care what you plan on wearing under them, don't wear 'em. Not only do they not work you will be made fun of by the locals and the people who have skied their entire lives.

Bottom line: there is nothing good at all about skiing in jeans, it's all bad.

However, you can wear jeans UNDER something such as waterproof track pants, or similar. The best fabrics for snow are wool near your body and gore-tex exterior. Cotton sucks in the snow.

Your best bet is to just buy snow pants, even if you buy a cheap pair and wear something under them it's WAY better than just jeans. Wearing jeans is the equivalent of showing up to class in your underwear, its just a bad idea.

    Have fun out there!

  14. I wouldn't recommend it. cotton holds water and moisture in like nothing else. You'll fall down and end up freezing your *** off.

  15. I used to wear train conductor overalls when I went skiing. Just put on spandex and something light and waterproof on underneath and you should be fine.

    Good luck!

  16. You can ski in a bikini bottom and leg warmers too...that might get you more attention!

Seriously though, jeans are only a practical alternative when you have nothing else to wear skiing. Once they get wet they lose all insulating ability. Nylon windbreaker pants would be a better option if you don't want to go out and buy ski pants.

If you do choose to ski in jeans here's some tips:

1: Don't tuck the jeans into the boots. This causes the boots to fit incorrectly and it could lead to numbness or cold feet.

2: Wear a synthetic base layer (if possible.) Polypro long underwear, Under Armor, Bergalene, Capaline, or silk long underwear would be better than cotton.

    3. Brush as much snow off of your jeans as possible as soon as you get up from a fall and before you go inside a building. If it is below freezing outside the snow will have less time to melt on your jeans if you get it off quickly.

    Have Fun.

  17. No. If you wear jeans and you fall you are going to be freezing. When you take the chairlift up your butt will be freezing. Jeans generally are not warm enough to go skiing.

Just where snow pants with leggings underneath. Snow pants are very comfortable and just make sure they are water proof.

  18. Yes. Just be sure to use a spray like Scotch-guard or something like it to make them as water resistant as possible.  Do this a few days before so they have time to dry, and maybe add a light second coat.  Also get separate leg gaiters to put around your boots and lower part of your jeans to keep snow out.  I've done this and it works fine.  As it gets later in the season, snow pants can get hot on a sunny afternoon on the slopes.
