Can I somehow sneak booze on to a cruise?

I'm going on a Norwegian cruise (NCL) out of NY and it's for my brother's bachelor party so I was wondering if there was some way that I could sneak booze on board. Do they thoroughly check the luggage and if so would they really find one bottle?

  1. Just pack your bottle of liquor in your checked baggage (not your carry-on).

  2. depends do you want to be told you can not board if they find it. that is the policy a lot are using now that most of the jumpers started the same way.

  3. If you get caught they'll take it away from you.

  4. on carinaval we've put a 1/2 gal whiskey in the checked lug. and had no problems, also put in 12 pk cokes. use platic if poss so nothing brakes .  linda

  5. I went for a cruise around the Med and I took some Bacardi with me - also bought it at ports and got back on the ship - also bought some coke to go with it lol

  6. All you need to do is put it in your checked in luggage and you will be fine.  Do not carry it on.

I transfer vodka into empty Club Soda bottles, then put them into zip lock bags.  That way you don't have to worry about the bottles breaking.

NCL SUCKS.  But try to have a good time anyway.  Should be going Royal or Princess.

  7. Actually, most cruise lines, including NCL do not "let" you take your own liquor onboard. NCL might check more thoroughly than lines, but many are becoming stricter. I do know that if NCL finds it they will hold it until the end of the cruise.

If you don't want to take the chance, or even if you do, but want to have a backup plan just in case, you can order a bar setup BEFORE the cruise. A bottle will be delivered to your room. The price is a bit higher than a liquor store, but much cheaper than buying individual drinks at the ship's bar.

Call 1-866-625-1159 and ask for your ship's coordinator. Tell him/her you want to order a bar setup. Here is a list with prices that were good 8 months ago - http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2264197...

  8. Most cruises let you take drink on with you,,although Fred.Olsen which is a norwegian cruise company doesnt let you and "confiscates" it for the druration of the cruise (they put it into storage in the hold of the ship)..so youd be better off getting big water bottles and then filling them with vodka -- trust me this works!! =D  x3 GUD LUK! x3
