Can I split incoming to a DVR and HDTV (as done with VCRs) and record 2 different programs? How wired?

Question

Have used multiple VCRs to record different channels simultaneously while watching TV. Will a similar arrangement work using a DVR? A non-tech answer, please.

for doing tht u will need a dvr which has "twin tuner " technology in it . u are looking at about 800dollars for a hard drive based and 1800dollars for dvd and harddrive based

You can record different programs only if you have a DVR with multiple Tuners or multiple DVRs.

So, if your DVR has two tuners, you can record two different programs
