If you had crossover cable you could connect the two computers together and then enable internet connection sharing. This is the cheapest solution but not a very good one.

Your best bet is to get a router.

You can purchase an Ethernet Split. If you want wireless you have to get a router. Here is a link to the $6 splitter -

You can get either a wired router or a wireless one.

Wireless is easiest.
