I've been dancing since the age of 2 doing Jazz, Hip-Hop and Tap almost all my life, but never ballet. Now I'm in my teens, is it too late for me to start ballet? I would like to because I really want to study dancing in a performing arts school and I feel I may need to know some ballet.

  1. Its not too late!!!

  2. No, you're definitely not too old, especially if you have done other dance

  3. Defiantly not! Especially since you have been doing Jazz and Tap for a long time! That means you have worked up good leg muscle. Plus Jazz is like a laid-back form of ballet. I suggest you take up ballet. Take your studios Beginner Teen Ballet class or whatever they have r whatever your teacher suggests. Sometimes they wil put you in a higher class if they think you can handle it. I have been doing ballet for a long time and wanted to start jazz. But instead of going to Begginer Jazz I  went straight to Jazz 4 because of my ballet training! The highest jazz level for my studio is 5!

    Go for it!

  4. you are not too old to start ballet. the fact that you have been dancing since you were 2 helps a lot. you have a great history in dance so i think it would be pretty easy to take ballet classes. ballet will definetely help you in the arts school.
