I really want to get into dancing. But am I too old to start learing again. I used to dance when i was 5 on & off till age 11. I have taken gymnastics, baton, cheerleading, and dance but that was when I was smaller. I'm scared that it will be too hard & the other girls that were doing it since they were 2 will get annoyed or not like me. What class do you think I should take? What should I do?

  1. Just go in give it your best and have fun, the whole reason you do it is because you enjoy it and not because others don't like you.

  2. No you are not too old to dance now, maybe you don't know if you still love dancing but you can try it. About me when i was a child i danced but i stopped for a long time. I am older now and last year i did a lot of sport for 8 months only because i wanted to do a diet. And i have stopped again. But dance is nice for me and also like to watch someone that dances. I only love dancing in disco when i can. I am quite lazy and so i have stopped always. You can try to dance and you will see if you feel dancing with passion.

  3. Go for it! I was in a very similar situation, I danced when i was younger and then quit. I went back to ballet at 13, and was in a class with other girls who were my age and were also just starting ballet, so they were at my same level. Yes, sometimes when i went to auditions it was weird being alongside girls who were the same age as me but far beyond my skill level. But just hold your head high, last year despite my low skill level I was able to get a part in my studios production of the Nutcracker. It is defiantly not to late for you! If you really want it, and work hard you can still go far. Going into an intense program will also help you. Good luck! I hope you do great!

  4. no im 13 and im starting dance

  5. No way you are totally not to old too old would be like 18 and wanted to start lol your still young go for it

everyone will understand ur new not all dancers are bratty and snuck up actually i dont think any are for that matter but most people seem to think we are anyways

i think to start off take jazz or ballet its easy and fun and when your getting the hang of it start taking tap and lyrical

have fun with your new sport and dont worry be happy in what you do dont let others tell you otherwise!

  6. You shouldn't care what other people think of you. If you just be yourself and not make a fool out of yourself, then the other girls shouldn't get annoyed. If you do, then laugh it off and if they are annoyed, say something to let them know that you don't like it, but not in a direct way. They are mature enough to understand the fact that you haven't danced in a while, and you should just let them know that. Good luck! ;)

  7. Of Course, i didnt start till i was 14 either,  cuz i am 14 right now, and started a few months ago,  sure some kids may say its stupid, but just dont listen to them, Dance is the way of showin g how you feel. Its a beautiful thing. Altho i dont take classes, i learn from videos and my mom.  ( I took baton when i was younger too :DDD)

  8. Definitely! I tried out for my school's dance team when I was 14, and I had very little previous experience. I made it and I love it! I don't think you're ever too old to learn - look at some of the people on Dancing with the Stars, they are in their fifties.

  9. hey, i started dancing at the age of fourteen and i practiced really hard. now one year later, i am on the travelling competition team earning high gold and platinum medals. If you start now and take the time to properly learn everything than you can do it
