Can I start my 65 horse outboard motor with the water muffs on it. (on the trailer)?

  1. no problem but you are not supposed to run the hose wide open just 1 turn

  3. thats kinda what the muff's are for. you might also notice a lot of salt water launch ramps have a flush station.

    Myself i have a plastic 55 gal drum that i slip under the drive leg minus the prop

  6. you can,,and yes thats what their for,,,but,,some motors have "weak" pumps,,and use the forward motion of your boat to help the intake,,and it is only recommended that you only do it 5 or so ( whatever each model says) minutes at a time,,you need to also make sure your muffs fit tightly,,and that you have coming out as well as going in.,,this is how most people winterize their boats,,,,you can also jus back ya trailer into a pond or whatever,,hehe we use to cheat that way when we lost the muffs
