Can I start trying for a baby before my period has returned after stopping the pill?

I have been on Micronor the Progestogen Only Pill (POP) for about 7 months and my periods stopped about 4 months ago, is it safe to start trying now or should I wait for my first period? Also how long will they take to return?

  1. it's safe. good luck!

  2. YES YES YES YES YES!

Don't listen to anyone that says otherwise, and let me tell you why.

I came off the pill, had my usual bleed that would happen during the 7 day break from the pill, and was told you had to wait for a PROPER period before TTC. I fell pregnant the same month.

They only suggest you wait so you can work out dates better but who cares, as long as the baby is healthy.

GO FOR IT GIRL. Loads of baby dust for you

  3. There is no harm in trying now if you wish to.  (You don't have to wait for the 'hormones to get out of your system' or anything like that.)

The only problem would be that if you DO conceive on the first ovulation, you might not know that you are pregnant. Which is not, in itself a big deal (assuming you lead a generally healthy lifestyle, even when not pregnant), but can be a bit inconvenient.

    So, your choice,really.
