  1. Art knows not of age.

  2. Without doubt.  Age is no barrier to artistic ability or drive.

  3. Of course you can :) you can start being interested in art at the age of 30 and still become an artist :)

  4. art doesn't have an age. you can start at 8 months when your scribbling to when your 90 and water paint about your grand kids. i started drawing manga when i was 9 and i continue with it. start now and you'll be successful!

  5. I really cannot  see why you would not be able to pursue your intrest in art !?! . just do what you can or whatever might need to be done to help you sharpen your skills... So you might even shock yourself if you'd maybe honestly , whole-heartedly express yourself in your artwork !?!  G/L~!!! .     ' r R r

  6. "Grandma Moses" was a fameous American artist that didn't start untill she was quite old. If you have a unique style you can become a successful artist anytime.

  7. i dont think it matters what age you are :)

  8. Yes, yes, yes.  All of these people are right!

It's funny how old you feel when you're 18.  I remember.  I remember thinking OMG I'm not in art school yet; it's over; I'm never going to be a painter.

Yeah.  Well, I didn't actually get to art school until I was 30.  Which must seem ancient to you.  But now that I'm 40, I realize that 18 and 30 are in fact not ancient.

AND, I went to a really serious art school (drawing and painting from the model for 8 hours a day!) where some of the students were 20 to 40 years older than I was.  They did as well or better than anybody.

This is not ballet.  You don't have to start when you're three years old.

    Good luck to you.

  9. It depends on your determination, Ruby. When you start is not important, it's how sincere you are to succeed. I am 72, and I'm about to start painting in watercolours.

  10. You're just starting out at life, you're never too old to change careers.

I'd like you to check out the links I've included on Grandma Moses.  She began painting in her seventies!  I've seen some of her work and it's fantastic.  Your work may be quite different from the American folk style she is renowned for.

I worked at a store that taught art classes for many years.  Many folks didn't start painting until after they retired.

My point is, you can be an artist now or later.  Whenever you want to be, no matter what your age is.

Can you support yourself with your art?  That's a different question, isn't it?  If you get good at what you're doing, you can teach classes and make good money while sharing your gift with others.  A double bonus!

The second link is what I got by when I googled Grandma Moses under images.  I'd really like you to see some of her work.
