There is a temporary burn ban in Kitsap county in Washington state, my husband and I burn allot of cardboard and paper so it doesn't end up in the trash can. Does the ban include burning in an off the ground contained barrel?

  1. During a burn ban, the only thing you can burn outside is a steak on the grill. Get caught and the fine will probably be really high.

  2. Yes.  Letting the stuff deteriorate is actually better for the environment.  Burning it is very bad for the environment.  It pollutes the air.  Shred the paper.

    Better yet, start recycling.

  3. Yes, the ban includes that also.

But you may be able to get a burn permit from the fire department.

Just go to the closest fire station from where you live and ask.
