  1. Yes you will need a passport =)

  2. the law is in affect u need a passport for mexico and canada

  3. no you should NOT. I have a Mexican friend and he would NEVER think of crossing without his passport and for now he says he won't even go down there.

  4. i live in a bordertown and this was said here: you will need a birth certificate and an id (state id) by january 31 2008, but passport is going to be required for everyone by june or july 2008 according to local lawyers and county workers

  5. If you fly, you need a passport now. Come January 31, 2008, you will need a government issued I.D. (such as your driver's license) and your birth certificate.  Before that date, a government issued i.d. (such as your driver's license should do).

The date for passports hasn't been determined yet.  (Read the following link).  http://travel.state.gov/travel/cbpmc/cbp...

There is a possibility that the date will be pushed up.  Read the following link and then contact your senator to see if it has happened.  http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap_travel/200712...

The following links I have put in just in case you are going to drive into Mexico and tour the country.  Of course the information posted above will apply when it comes to traveling Mexico by vehicle.

You should be able to get by with just your driver's license and proof of ownership of your car (or if you are renting a car, you'll need the documents to prove you are the person renting the car).

You will need Mexican car insurance whether you are driving your own vehicle or a rented one plus you will have to pay a bond (you'll get it back once you leave Mexico, provided you keep your receipt). (Read the second and third links in regards to those matters).

The nice thing about the second link is that it provides you with all kinds of neat, and necesarry information about Mexico. Things like Mexico laws, tourist visas, etc.

The second and third links have links about buying Mexican car insurance.

  6. You do NOT need a passport to go to Mexico by LAND until later this year.  The date has not yet been set.  You do need a photo I.d.and proof of citizenship...birth certificate.  see website below and read top half of the page carefully for current info.  Passports are NOT required as of Jan. 31...read the website CAREFULLY.  Calling those who answer you scumbags is extremely rude...some people have given you wrong answers...they need to read the correct info also...but there is no need to be hateful to any of us.

  7. no you need a passport to leave the country

  8. You must have a passport now.
