Can I still fundraise for my trip if the tickets are paid for?

I've been selected to an Astronomy conference in Paris in Jan, and we went to the travel agent who said they can only hold the tickets for 7 days.

If we purchased them and charged them to my parents credit card, would I still be able to fundraise and apply for funding to organisations etc to pay my mum back?

Or would the organisations not give me any money?

What organizations?  Were you promised any money for the tickets?  You should still be able to try to raise money to reimburse the cost, but keep in mind if you charge the tickets now, and you are not able to fundraise a sufficient amount to pay your mom, she would probably not be able to get a refund on the tickets.   Can you  and she afford the tickets if you are not able to raise the funds from outside sources?
