money is extremely tight in our family right now, as my dad is trying to get everything situated for his very own business and a possible move to central florida. My current school has also been experiencing some troubles with safety and overall quality, along with me having ongoing hard headed issues about showing up consistently. Because of all this my family and i have decided its probably for the best that I am homeschooled for this year only. It is my junior year in highschool, and i can make arrangements quickly to take all the classes i would be taking at school online with FLVS (in which im already enrolled for some other courses). Well i was wondering if i just choose to be homeschooled this year if i can become reinstated into the same school next year if i wish to return? im on a special assignment to my school, in other words, im supposed to be going to a diff. school but had special arrangements made so i could go to the one im currently attending. would that still be in play? or would i have to apply for the special assignment all over again? also would being homeschooled for only one year prevent me from being elligable for a high school diploma? thankyou for any help you can provide.

  1. Since the Virtual School IS public school, only you're doing it at home, they will accept your credits, just as they would in a regular transfer from one school to another.  You'll probably have to apply for the special assignment again -- I think those go year-to-year.  The only thing I can think of that would keep you from being eligible for a regular high school diploma would be if you failed some classes.

    Good luck!

  2. I agree with HSlovingmom. Check with the guidance counselor at your high school. Each school district hass their own policies regarding transferring classes, school boundaries and what it takes to graduate. It's best to ask up front.

    Best of Luck!

  3. As FLVS is a public charter, it should be transferable; however, you really should check with the school you wish to graduate from, just to make sure.  Each school is allowed to make their own policy regarding accepting homeschool credits.
