There is a strong possibility that I may be pregnant. I want to go to the gym because I have a membership and I haven't been using it. I'm "supposed to get my period next week." Can I still go to the gym and work out or so something like tredmill walking/running and stair climbing? Or should i just wait?

  1. If you haven't been using your membership..does that mean you haven't been exercising at all?  If that is the case you can work out but you need to do low impact and slowly work up.  Walking on the treadmill or something like that will gradually increase your stamina without you risking hurting yourself if you are pregnant.  Doctors suggest you not start a brand new work out regimen that is high impact when you are pregnant.  If you have been working out then just take it easy and be cautious when lifting anything heavy.  If you are pregnant I would definitely ask your doctor and they will be able to advise you on any restrictions on your work out.  Good luck!

  2. if you havnt already been working out you should be careful but an exersise is good at anytime just be smart if it hurts don't do it and take things nice and easy fit women have easier labors

  3. there is no doubt a pregnant women, even 20 months can still do the same sports or go to the gym, she used to do before her pregnancy.

  4. yes u can still do all that. Just take it easy!!

  5. Of course you can go to the gym - just no really heavy lifting.

  6. as long as you're not over doing yourself.

Since you haven't been using it regularly, i would stay away from a lot of heavy weights, and reps..

just use what you're comfortable with and go from there.. the cardio part should be fine.. just don't over do that either.

There was a woman at my gym teaching the cardio workout class at 7 1/2 months. she has been instructing it for quite sometime so it was okay.

just take it easy, drink lots of water and don't push yourself over the top.

  7. Yeah you can go to the gym. The doctor will tell you that you can do almost anything when you pregnant that you did before you were pregnant. IF you run a mile you can  still continue but don't start any major new  things. But yeah it is very healthy to work out.

  8. you could. as long as you stay away from the weights and just try to take it easy by walking on a treadmill or something. try watching how to do yoga for pregnaunt mothers on t.v (sadly, idk which channel it is from where you are...) i hope i helped.

  9. Yes you can still do the same that you were doing prior to your pregnancy . If you are pregnant do not do any type of ab work or anything that requires you laying on your back ( bench press ) .

Make sure once you are pregnant to clear with your Dr , drink plenty of water , and do not over exert yourself .

I weight lifted and did cardio all through this pregnancy and it has made it a very easy one . Its beneficial to Mom and baby & you have more stamina . I have only gained 19lbs and going into 38 weeks due to taking care of myself and eating healthy . My baby girl will be well over 7lbs at birth :)

Good luck and ALWAYS listen to your body .
