I got in trouble for a DUI last year and I am still on probation for it. Can I still join the army or any type of military service? Also any ideas about which branch would be fun?

  1. i dont think so, but after probation, rangers =) or paratroopers

  2. No you cannot join the military while still under any legal obligations. You also don't have the option to go Air Force and the Marines would probably DQ you as well for your DUI. You also have limited jobs seeing as you probably do not qualify for Secret Clearence, let alone Top Secret. You will have to wait until you are done with probation to even look into the Army Marines or Navy, Air Force is not an option for you at all. Good luck though.

  3. No

When off probation, you will need a waiver. Your job choices will be limited because of the conviction.

  4. You will need a waiver. They are all fun.

  5. no.  you must finish probation before you can begin the process.. and for DUI..you will need a waiver.

  6. You cannot be on probation and join any military branch. Also you cannot use joining the military to get you off of probation. However if you tell them you want to they may drop you from probation, even though they are not supposed to. It has happened and it will continue to happen.

Tell your PO that you wish to join and see if they will drop you to Court supervision, which means you are not on probation, however they can add to your prior sentence if you commit another crime, but will be eligible to join.
