Question:

Can I still participate with no bib number for tomorrow's 10K?

I was out of town during packet pickup and the rules clearly say NO PACKET PICKUP ON RACEDAY...

This means, I have no bib number and no timing chip. I just got off the plane at 5:00 and the expo closed at 6:00. Didn't make it. Have you run in a marathon? Did you happen to see what they did with runners who didn't pickup packets in time?

I can sleep better knowing what to expect in the morning. Help? Thanks!

  1. Kinda like showing up for a college class without actually signing up for it. You can sit in the back of the class and keep your mouth shut and just be a sponge.

You can run at the REAR of the pack (use your own timing devise) and just stay out of people way. Even if you have the fastest elapsed time, NO ONE will care because no will KNOW.

  2. No, you can't still run it. You will not have a time without the chip. If you knew you were going to be out of town you should have made arrangement's in advance. Sorry, it sounds like you are out of luck. BTW at 10k is NOT a marathon...it's about 20 miles short of a marathon.

  3. That really sucks, especially since you've flown there to run.......just get there early and see if they have your # available (but doubt it :( ). If not just start with everyone else and right before the finish, maybe 100-200 yards away just jump of the side of the road and don't go through the finish chute.........hope ya can get your # still, let us know, good luck!!
