I have never had a baby, and in the commercial it seems like the only way I am allowed to take it is if I have had a child... Can you help? Also share whether you think this is a good idea or not...

  1. First, you don't TAKE mirena, its inserted in your body and stays there. Second, its only a recomendation  for woman who have had at least one child. Its not a "rule" or stipulation, just a recomendation (Im not 100% of the reason behind that), but once it is inserted and you decide you want to get pregnant, you can have it taken out if wanted.

You can have it for 5 or 10 years.

  2. I work in an OBGYN office, and it seems that a lot of women have problems with the mirena causing pain, or unusual bleeding. We have a few that come back, and want it removed.

  3. dont take it. for your own health

  4. I wouldn't and your doctor will probably advise against it.
