Will it be dangerous? I want to make fried rice but we don't have any actual eggs. There is an eggbeaters container that says "Use by Aug 02 2008". Just wondering if i should use that.

  1. if you have kept the product cold for most of time id say yes but you need to smell it and look at appearance of it to determine if it still good

  2. If they've been refrigerated, they're probably ok. I'd open the container and take a whiff - if it doesn't smell bad, it should be safe - those dates are usually just recommendations, and it's not like they've been expired for a month!

  3. Definitely not.  There is a "best before" date on products for a specific reason -- to ensure that one does not become ill from its consumption!  Some products, juice for instance, have a best before date, but it is really an "optimal taste" date, and any time after that, it may not taste as good, but it won't harm you.  Dairy products, especially, have a hard-and-fast expiration date.  Do not use!

  4. I am a former chef and use them and there only egg whites and flavourings no real eggs or whole eggs and the fellow from the A&P is right if this was raw eggs or broken eggs in the carton no you do not want to mess with that, but egg beaters have no salmonella growing properties, salmonella is from the yolk were the fat is.

  5. It's not going to kill you.

  6. As long as they stayed cool, they will be fine.  Wouldn't let them go longer than a week past though.
