Question:

Can I still use checks though the address is incorrect?

I just moved to a totally different city, but I still have a box of checks for my bank account with my old address. I don't really write a lot of checks, so I would hate to have to order more. So my question is if I can still use my old checks, even though my old address is listed.

  2. You can use your check.  Your bank will still accept check if they still show the old address on there.

  3. My business does not accept checks with addresses that do not match the address on the ID (assuming you have a new license with updated address) - it's an identity fraud red flag.  This also applies to handwriting the new address on the old check.

Save yourself the potential headache at the register - get new checks and chalk them up as an unexpected moving expense.

  4. Sure.  Utility and credit card bills are fine.

Do NOT use the checks locally as small business will try to add you to their database.
