Question:

Can I still use this Science fair topic?

I was thinking about a science project I could do. Then I thought of how some children have died from taking adult medicine. I though that I could show children (4 years) some medicines and candy and ask them if they thought it was medicine or candy. But when I looked it up on google to get information I found that a site had this idea already. The complete project and everything. Can I still use this idea? And if so, how can I tweak it so it isn't like the one I found.

The site above is the experiment I found. How can I change it?

  1. Ask your teacher, sounds very interesting. You can also connect your project with Mr. Yak, if you contact them they will send you free stickers and information which you can use in your presentation. Good luck!

  2. That's actually a pretty wicked idea. Dunno why i didn't think of that T_T It would be a great idea as long as you took proper precautions with the kids you were surveying. An easy way to set up the experiment since you're working with kids is to make it into a game. Your experiment actually brings up a lot of interesting topics. For instance, Kids may think that pills are candy and be tempted to try them. Typically the bad taste gives it away. But certain medications like Advil(which is very common in households) is coated to make it taste...well like candy actually. Or how about candy cigarettes? Wow, dunno if i answered your question at all. You get a star though. :D
