Can I still watch my black and white shows on one of those new color tv sets?

They've finally convinced me to switch over, but I'm worried.

  1. Yes, black and white will work but not at the same time.


  2. Of course. Most people don't realize that, years ago, life was in black and white. Those shows and old movies are actually in color, that's just how color was back then.

  3. Only if there is black and white people in the shows, otherwise they come in color automatically.

  4. You joke about it but i have lived it.

    When i was a child my childminder got her first colour TV. When i watched Zorro on it she thought it was broken. It took me nearly a day to explain to her that black&white programs would still be black&white even though her TV was now colour.

    LOL thanks for bringing back that memory.

  6. Colour TVs were designed to be able to show B/W pictures ! It is known as Reverse Compatibility !!

  9. yes, but I still think they look better on the black and white sets. Except for Leave it to Beaver... that is enhanced by DeVol with a special lens and looks just as good on a color TV. June's aprons have an incredibly lifelike shade of gray.
