Can I stop my computer from connecting to a public network?

Question

My computer keeps disconnecting from my wireless network and connecting to a public network that has a better signal. I've tried removing the public network, but it keeps re-appearing again. I've tried putting my own network on first priority but that hasn't worked either. Is there anyway I can sort of ban my computer from connecting to this network?
