  1. Yes, you can store extra nectar in the refrigerator, but it will not keep forever. Figure on about a week or so before you discard it.  And if it turns black or cloudy, out it goes, regardless of how long it has been around.

    As for winter feeding, you can actually keep feeding all through year (although I don't know if there are year-round residents in your area).   If you want to try it, check out this Web page for an "antifreeze" recipe:
