Can I store photographs in an outdoor storage unit without ruining them?

I have some photographs and i want to know if i can store them in an outdoor storage unit that isn't climate controlled, without damaging them. Any advice is much appreciated.

  1. No you can't instead get a safety box from the bank to store your photographs!!


  2. Absolutely not. The heat alone will ruin them. If it gets humid, that will attack them as well.

  3. Sorry, but no. The change in temperature and humidity will definitely damage your photos. If you are pressed for space, consider moving things into the storage space from your house, like athletic equipment or toys made of plastic, that won't be affected. Then move your photos in to the space you made.

    If you can afford it, there's also storage locker spaces which are inside climate controlled buildings. I use one of these to store some of my prints.
