My recipe calls for Chinese rice wine (Shaohsing) but all I have is Aji-Mirin, which is a Japanese Sweet cooking rice wine. Can I use that instead?

  1. sake (smoother and sweeter) OR sherry (dry) are the best substitute for Shao hsing.

Aji mirin is salted, so adjust the recipe accordingly, if using it.

  2. You cook? A man who owns my heart, I agree with Cister, good choice.
