I have an apple snickerdoodle healthy recipe that calls for dried apples, but I can't find any at the store. Can I use regular blended apples instead? If not, what can I use (besides other dried fruits). Here is the full recipe:

1c whole wheat pastry flour

1/2 c nonfat dry powder milk

1/4 tsp baking soda

3/4 tsp ground cinnamon

1 dash salt

1/2 c fat-free vanilla yogurt

1/4 c honey

2 tblsp unsweetened applesauce

1 tblsp canola oil

1/2 c dried apples

1 tblsp sugar

  1. yes, that should work fine, you may need to bake it less since the apples are going to bake faster than dried ones.Dried ones need to absorb the liquid to cook.

  2. I don't think you can use regular apples they are very moist and that will ruin the recipe, you can use 1/2 cup cereal of any kind, like rice krispies or you can omit the apples.

  3. Yeah, you can use regular apples.

Omit the applesauce, though. The fresh apples will add plenty of moisture.

And you would probably wanna use about 3/4 cups fresh apples, since dried takes up less room.

  4. omit the apple sauce and add 1/2 cup grated apples in place of dried apples.
