  1. Because of the short wavelength  the likelihood is that this will be problematic. You will lose about 80 per cent of a signal from tiles and probably all through stone or bricks, certainly if there's any metal in there you won't get a signal at all.

There are actually restrictions on Sky dishes : some councils put a ban on buildings of multiple occupancy of more than one dish, and you can't have one at all on the outside of listed buildings. The way round the latter is to have a ground dish hidden round the back of a bush somewhere.

  2. Why would you want to put it IN your roof space surely if you are in the countryside there are no restrictions as to where you can site your dish so why not keep it outside the building to maximise the signal, etc and so it is easier to access in the event that you need to call SKY out to fix the dish?

  3. No, the satellite dish needs 'line of sight' to the satellite in order to receive the signal. You can now get dishes that can be custom decorated to blend better with the exterior of your home, if conservation or planning regs forbid a conventional dish.

  4. won/t work inside.

  5. I wouldn't get a professional to do it. It's not worth it if it goes wrong?
