I've been getting REALLY sick messages from people on all these sites. Telling me really insulting things and what not. They arent even banned by the site owners or anything so this continues. I want to file a police report but I hear the cops do nothing. I'm just curious.

  1. There is not much that can be done unless they harassment is a death threat. Even then depending on the level of ability of your local police they will be limited.

Your best bet is to not give out your real personal email when in the message boards. Only use message boards you trust and know have a "good" membership base. Also do not post things that will draw crazy people to you.

  2. If you don't want to get messages, don't display your email address.  Also, a good way to not be bothered is not to bother to go to abstract web sites.

  3. Your somewhat ambiguous in the nature of your complaint.

The FBI has a cybor division. If your complaint is serious

enough in nature they could look at it.

  4. can you solve for x and y for me? -1x+4y=-3,4x-16y=12.

  5. I dont think that you can sue or file a police report because it wouldnt be very serious. I think the best you can do is to just report them on here. There acount will be deleted

  6. No - you can't sue the site.  Many people have tried and it's been ruled that, for the most part, sites are not responsible to police the content.  They can however be forced to reveal the identity of people by subpoena - however these subpoenas have been successfully fought as invasions of privacy.  As far as filing a police report, you'd have to be able to name the person you are filing against and prove that they know who you truly are - if you are known by a screen name and the other person is known by a screen name, you're not being harassed - you're saying "anonymous" is harassing "anonymous".  The police may ask you the logical question - why are you visiting the site if you're feeling attacked, why are you giving people the ability to send you messages and why are you reading the message when you know they may upset you?
