6 inches? Do you shave with a machete?

  7. the salt water is good for your cut, it might sting a little at first though. I don't know where you live, but you shouldn't go too far out in the water with a bleeding leg, as sharks really are attracted to the scent of blood.

  8. Well it will hurt because of the salt water.  I wouldn't worry about sharks, that depends on where you live :)

  9. NO, all those answer are wrong, Sea water is dangerous to an open wound. It can cause more harm than good. The other answers all ref to salt water where you add salt to hot water and apply to wounds to clean them. Yes that's good for an open wound.

However, you will exposing your cut/wound millions of bugs and creatures that live in the water that you can't see.

Please read the articles(links) that I have provided which will explain what can happen if you expose cut to sea water.

  10. It depends on the prevalence of sharks in the water where you swim.  Aggressive sharks such as tiger and bull sharks may attack in very shallow water and respond to blood in the water even at a great distance.

  11. Actually, the salt water is very good for cuts, it may heal it quicker!

  12. I would wait until it is completely healed.
