My baby is going to be 7 months on aug 17th. How old is old enough to take her off the bottle...I just don't want her to be 1 years old and still on a bottle. I hate seeing babies with rotted teeth there is just no need for them to be on a bottle that long in my opinion. Is 7 months to young though? she is still on some formula and eating jar food aswell.

  1. My son was using sippy cups all the time at 10 months. I began trying to transition him around 8 months, but also keep in mind some children will fight it. Give it a shot and if she takes to it, keep going. Good luck!

  2. try getting her to use a sippy with juice or something other than milk.  She may take to it quicker.  Then you can slowly move all other liquids over to cups.

  3. If she is ready for it. My daughter was off bottles by 13 months. She liked her sippy up better. Good luck.

  4. yes

  5. Yes, you can, but you have to make sure that the sippy cup that you choose is made for 7 month olds. At that age, they have really soft teeth so you need to get a sippy cup with rubber on the spout.

  6. definitely introduce the sippy cup now. but there is nothing wrong with keeping her on her bottle until 1 year of age. especially if she is still on formula. the evening bottle is really soothing for babies. my daughter was still taking milk from her bottle until 2 weeks ago. only her evening and morning one were the one's that she still had. everything in between was from her sippy. she's 19 months old...and well READY! it took about 3 days before she actually forgot about it. now onto the weaning her from her nuk! dreadful!

  7. Getting babies off the bottle is one of the hardest things 2 do. You can ask any parent.my daughters a year n she drinks a cup during the day but at night wants a bottle. It takes a while to wean them. I hate seein that to just like seein a 3yr old not potty trained! Everyones tellin me she's to young but im doin it. I don't think 7 mths  is a bad time if you can do it more power to you. You can keep trying it. If you can do it now it will sure make it easier for you in the future. I know people who did it at 6 mths! So good luck!

  8. My son started using a sippy cup at meals when he was 5 months and was off the bottle by a year.  He was never "attached" to it and kinda took himself off the bottle.  I just started by replacing one formula feed with a cup instead of the bottle

  9. yes, she old enough my peditricain recommended that i start giving my babies the sippy cups at 6 months . they have age appropriate sippy for babies 6 months and up. but don't get discouraged if at first she throws it or doesn't drink from it she needsa little time to adjust. just keep giving it to her. good luck

  10. my son refused to use a sippy until he was 3

he would drink from an open cup from 11 months, but we gave him a bottle if we were out in the car

he's nearly 5 and got a glowing report from the dentist this morning

try her on a sippy. see if she will drink. they have age suggestions on them. i think they start at 4 months, then 6 and 9 for the different sorts

  11. well my baby is 10 month old and I'm trying to switch  from bottle to cup but it sometime just depends on children if your baby will take a cup and drink from a cup okay then go for it and that will be great but others sometime take longer work with her on it I'm working with my son on it we only put juice in cups and formula  in the bottle and cup. good luck that is so great seeing people working to get there babys off the bottle early!
