  1. it will make you sleepy. If you are going to take it then take it at least 8 hours before you have to be somewhere

  2. It's best to ask your doctor first.  They may end up prescribing it for you as a prn (per reqeusted or as needed) along with your regular does to take before you go to something that will cause you anxiety.  It will only affect you differently, as far as sleepiness goes, if you take other meds during the day - if they overlap, etc.  But, please, since it is a benzodiazapine, be very careful - it will impair how you operate a vehicle.  And, if you drink, you will notice the affects more so than normal.

  3. Lorazepam (1 mg.) has never made me sleepy; it makes me feel groovy.

  4. Lorazepam is a tranquiliser as far as my knowledge goes...It makes a person sleepy because our nerves are put to relax.....you will not have the enthusiasm to enjoy the party.....one more thing after taking a tranquiliser if you do not relax it makes your brain dull and slows your

    movement....BE CAREFUL

  5. It is a sedative, so you run that risk...of course, you cannot drink while taking this drug...so perhaps you should not have a pill and hope to be alert and perky.

You don't want your classmates to think you are a junkie who is strung out on drugs...practice some deep-breathing in the car on the drive there, and go outside for fresh air if you need it.

Remember, everyone there will be feeling nervous about how they look, what they are doing in life, etc.  Relax and have fun!

  6. It depends how long you have been taking Lorazepam.  Don't forget your tolerance will increase as you use it more.  The books I've read suggest 2.0 mg to help with sleep.  But you will wake up with a hangover type effect.

If you have anxiety, try to plan 30 minutes ahead.  And then just take the 0.5 mg.  It will help.  Try not to become dependant on it, because it is really YOU and not the Lorazepam acting.

    Been there!  Done it Myself!
