I'm flying AirTran for the first time and I'm nervous about them losing my luggage. I'm not familiar with them at all.

Can I take a backpack (inside will be my laptop, magazine, wallet, etc.)

and a small suitcase BOTH as my carry-on?

  1. Women are allowed to bring a purse (which is your case in your backpack) and a carry on as well. Just make sure it fits the weight and length requirements so they don't make you check it!

  2. yepp.

  3. On most airlines this is ok, but you should check their web site to be sure because a lot of them are changing their policies.

  4. The standard requirement is one carry on plus one personal item.  If it's a small backpack, yes.

Also the standard permitted measurement for the carry on is 45 linear inches (length plus width plus height).

  5. Yes, your small backpack will be considered your purse.  Then, your small suitcase your carry-on.

Check the airlines for baggage policy

  6. I don't think so, due to the fact that they will probably consider your backpack as your carry on luggage, but then again it all depends on the airline you're flying with.  I would highly recommend calling the airline company yourself and asking them their opinion on the matter.

  7. you can take one purse and one carry on. The purse can be a bag for laptop etc. so a backpack should be okay. Check with your airline to be sure cuz you might get charged for an extra bag if you are wrong.
