Question:

Can I take a clear 3 ounce container on a plane?

I know that everything has to be in a quart size zip lock baggy and 3 ounces or under if it is a liquid. I am a frequent flyer but have never done this before... I went to Target and bought a clear 3 ounce plastic spray bottle to pour my hairspray in... will they allow me to take that clear bottle on the plane? or does it need to be like an actual brand of hairspray that I bought already labeled. I'm just worried they won't know what it is...

  1. Yes.

But it never made sense to me.

    They're afraid of liquid explosives?

So how come I can take a quart sized zip lock bag with as many 3 oz liquids as I can fit in there.

I'm sure after I pour it back out into a larger container, I can make a decent bomb.

TSA rules make no sense.  It's just a burden. I'm sure if someone wanted to hijack a plane with a liquid bomb, they'll bypass that restriction easily...

  2. I think you will be okay, but you can also check the TSA website to be sure.

  3. they don't care as long as its 3oz.. funny isnt it?

  4. You can take your regular big can or bottle of hairspray on the plane...just put it in your checked luggage.   You do not need  to use hairspray  during the flight anyway.  If you feel you MUST have hairspray in your carry-on, there are plenty of travel size hairsprays avail that are 3 oz or less...just look in Walmart or Target in the health and beauty section for the row where they have all the travel size products.

  5. YUP the max        is a 3 oz bottle
