I want to go on a cruise for my anniversary, but I am afraid I may not be able to go because of a passport. My family went last year on a cruise to Mexico w/out their passports.

  1. You do not need a passport for SEA travel until after summer 2008...see webpage elow and read top half of the page.  However, some cruise lines require their passengers to have passports even though the law does not.  It is wise to call your cruise line and ASK them about this.

  2. You can still cruise from a USA port to Mexico and Caribbean without a passport 2007. Don't know if the rules will change next year. Here is a website regarding passports.

    http://travel.state.gov

click on travel to Canada,Mexico, Caribbean and Bermuda top right hand corner

    Have fun.)

  3. It depends on when you are traveling. The government has set a tentative date of summer 2008 to implement the land and sea travel phase for passports. It is always a good idea to have one though. Try one of these sites for more information:

    Good Luck!
