Can I take a hair iron in my carry on bag on an airplane(delta)?

I am going from CT to Washington D.C, and I want to know if i can take a flat iron/hair straightener/hair iron on the plane in my carry on bag.

I would prefer people who have been in this situation answer.

I work at the check in counter and we get the question all the time.  Yes, you can.  Does yours have a butane cartridge?  If so, you can only bring one.



"Hair curlers (curling

irons) containing a

hydrocarbon gas such as

butane, no more than one per

person, in carry-on or

checked baggage. The safety

cover must be securely fitted

over the heating element. Gas

refills for such curlers are not

permitted in carry-on or

checked baggage"

You can bring it on the plane. Actually Delta is still one of the carriers that is not charging for checked bags.

Yes, but I don't know why you would; you can't use it on the plane.
