I'm planning travel ~next~ summer but am trying to organize my itinerary now. I'll also then want to get from Cardiff to Avebury without renting a car -- but will have luggage ....

  1. Yeah, you can take a train from Glasgow to Cardiff. Will take you about 7 hours with 1 stop. Try and book early - will be about half price then... (£50 - but probably a bit more next year)

Don't know about transportation to Avebury...sorry

  2. As Kayla says - you can travel by train from Glasgow to Cardiff, changing trains at Birmingham New Street. Trains on both routes are roughly hourly.

From Cardiff to Avebury, suggest you catch a train to Swindon (every half hour) then board the Wilts and Dorset No 96 bus to Avebury - current timetable is:

    Hope it helps.
