I want to take German as GCSE but my school doesn't do it. I learnt it in year 8 at a different school. And i was really good at it. I start my GCSE's in September. Is it possible to take the GCSE somewhere else? I live in Westminster, London

  1. You could ask your language teachers if any of them would be able to teach you - they may have previously taught German, and might be willing to teach you outside of normal lessons.

  2. Yes, you could take it at night college.

  3. Did u ask in ur school if u could take German GCSE even though they dont teach it? Cos some schools do that for some students

But u can take ur GCSEs somewhere else as long as u've been entered at the right time and u need to do it quick!

    Good luck

  4. Yes you can. Speak to your school or local college of FE.  A word of caution though is to check your work load and make sure you are not overloading yourself.

  5. If you are 14 or older you can go to a college of HE. BUT you need your school's permission.

A lot of schools are happy for students to do a extra GCSE at a college as an evening or Saturday morning class as long as you are a reasonably good student.

They want you to get 5 GCSE's A-C anything else is a bonus.
