  1. well i am not sure because once i went there and they di d not allow any food but i think if it id sealled pack they would u know saftey well be sure to buy the one that is sealed !!!!!!

    happy holidays   !!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!

  2. Why do you say Mexican coffee is terrible?  Have you prepared Mexican coffee yourself or only ordered it and been given Nescafe and luke warm water? Coffee from Oaxaca, Chiapas and Vera Cruz can be wonderful.  You can buy gourmet coffee in Mexico..even at Walmart or Cosco or Sam's. Starbucks are all over Mexico.  Take a chance and prepare some of the Mexican coffee.

  3. absolutlet, altough coffe powder is more popular in mexico

  4. Yes you are allowed to. Mexican coffee is the best in the world though. If you genuinely like coffee drink Mexican coffee. Maybe you would be better off just bringing your own cofffee maker because while the coffee here is superb MOST (not all) Mexicans do not know how to prepare coffee.

  5. I say take a package, it's not expensive. You can go to the immigration website that can be more specific. People are worried about the drugs, but don't forget that  the drug-sniffing dogs smell each individual item in any pachage. The important thing is:  DO NOT DRINK unbottled water there, including  ice.   They do not have clean drinking water there.  I contracted Hepatitis there and was very sick.

  6. You can take almost ANYTHING into Mexico.. it's bringing it out where you run into problems

  7. coffee from Mexico is the best.

  8. I did... well, not exactly coffee, but other kind of food from other countries, the key is to bring a brand new package, and u will not have problems, for sure...

  9. Absolutely.

    Have a great trip)

  10. I just came back from mexico city and I'm pretty sure you can't bring coffe, but coffee in mexcio is delicious and if you still don't like it there's a starbucks in every corner.

  11. I should have read your question more thoroughly first.  There are no restrictions on the importation of coffee, tea or spices for personal use, although they may be subject to FDA inspections if a CBP officer suspects contamination or insect infestation of the product.  This is a direct quote from the Customs and Border Protection website (which is the third link).

When you click on the third link, also click on this link (contained withing the third link) for further information.  Is there a weight limit on the amount of food I can bring back or import?

If what many of these people are saying and you want to bring Mexican coffee back with you, you might have to pay duty fees to get it out of Mexico.  Once again, this probably depends on how much you want to bring back with you.  Once again, click on the second link.  (This link is very lengthy).

The nice thing about the first link (even though it gives no specifics on coffee) is that it gives you so much other information about things you need to know about Mexico.
