Can I take drink (alcohol) abroad with me from UK to Spain?

Question

I want to take a bottle of JD abroad with me to save buying it when I'm there. Is it alright to leave it in the hold luggage? I know it's a risk with a glass bottle, but didn't know if it would be breaking some rules.

yes you can buy it from duty free and you can take it as hand luggage without a problem

it's cheaper in Spain but you can buy a bottle in duty free and carry it in your hand baggage with no problems, liquids only need to go in your hold baggage if they come from outside the security cordon, anything on the Air side of the airport is checked as it goes through.

There is absolutely no need to take JD to Spain with you its easily available and its cheaper.

So I wouldnt bother unless you need to drink it as you leave the plane and before you get to a bar to be able to buy more?!

Yes it's perfectly legal for you to do this, if you do, put it in the middle of your case so that it is best protected from heavy handling.

I have to ask the question though, why? it will be a lot cheaper for you to buy it in Spain duty free and there is no shortage of JD over there.

Think tha will be ok. You can't take any liquids as hand luggage but if it's in your suitcase then should be ok.

You can, but if you're flying the airline may not let you take a glass bottle as they break. Pack it in you suitcase instead.

is wine so costly in Spain?. You can buy from Spain's Airport or from any wine shop in Spain... or you are thinking to drink that bottle in Plane ;).

It's not risky as well. Every person is allowed to take 2 bottle with them in plane. While my friends coming from Abroad ... I told them to take 1 English wine for me :) like Smirnoff Vodka or Chevas Regal or Red/Black Label.
